On 28 March, CGE’s Managing Director, Douglas Kennedy, was a speaker and panelist at a TechConnex ‘Lunch and Learn’ event. Joined by leaders from successful international businesses as well as the Toronto Region Board of Trade – World Trade Centre (Toronto) and the Trade Commissioner Service, participants were shown the importance for businesses to develop a global mindset, particularly organizations in the technology and innovation economy sector where even start-ups are subject to international competition. The discussion also introduced participants to the cornucopia of information, talent, resources and programs available to them at low or no cost to assist them in their international ambitions, allowing them to ‘go global without going broke’.
The Centre extends its thanks and congratulations to Ms. Kelley Phillips and her team at TechConnex Markham for such a successful event. TechConnex is a collaborative community for learning and growing, aiming to help develop businesses and business leaders. Based in IBM’s Innovation Space in Markham, Ontario, it is an important resource for innovators and businesses in the tech-based ecosystem.
