CGE Participates in Canada – China Economic and Trade Investment Summit


On May 26th, 2019, the 6th Canada-China Economic and Trade Investment Summit was successfully held at the Markham Civic Center in Markham, Ontario. Hosted by the Canada-China Enterprise Capital Union, the event brought together entrepreneurs from both Canada and China who shared their insights and their successful entrepreneurial journeys with the summit participants.

The initial symposium featured keynote speakers with significant experience in the Canada-China commercial relationship, offering their perspectives on the current state and future prospect for trade and investment between the two countries. CGE’s RBC Managing Director Douglas Kennedy spoke about how the strategic necessity for both countries to further diversify their trade, commercial and investment relations created a strong shared interest for both China and Canada to seek further economic cooperation with each other.

The afternoon session focused on the exciting developments in China’s food services industries and other industries. Featured presenters included:

Ms. Li Shuang, VP of E-Ocean, an innovation media platform and company information service and a Forbes ‘Top 30s under 30 in Asia 2019’

Mr. Meng Bing, CEO of BinZ, a highly successful restaurant chain and a ‘Top 30s under 30 in China 2018’

Mr. Guo Xiaodong, CEO of Mei Zhou Dong Po, a Chinese restaurant chain of 150 fine dining restaurants with 10,000 employees in both China and the US.

The summit was followed by a gala dinner featuring panel discussions and presentations.
