CSA Planning National Instrument to Replace Local Crowdfunding Exemption Orders

In recent years, Crowdfunding is becoming one of the more popular ways for SMEs to raise money in the capital market. However, Canada’s restrictive policy on crowdfunding and different orders in various provinces obstruct the financing process for SMEs. As a result, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) announced that they would like to develop a national instrument to harmonize the regulations related to the start-ups crowdfunding.
